Pontoon
Pontoon can be found in several online casinos and extremely often only the highest online casinos at that. Furthermore it is a card game just like poker but is really similar to blackjack. Pontoon has mostly equal rules as a regular blackjack game, but has several little differences in the rules. Pontoon is played with eight standard 52-card decks. The cards all have equal worth as in blackjack. And just like blackjack, you will go bust when you pass the 21. The best hand possible is pontoon, which consists of an ace and a card with a worth of 10. The second greatest hand in pontoon, is any hand that consists out of 5 cards. But this is truly hard to get, because several hands are bust before they get 5 cards. The other hands are ranked on their total point worth. The best hand up to 21 wins.
Every round starts with the dealer giving each player two cards face up, and himself two cards with one face down and one face up. This is where the first difference from blackjack is. The dealer then looks at his cards, to check whether he has a pontoon or not. When the dealer has pontoon he reveals his cards and collects all wagers. When the dealer has pontoon, he automatically all the time wins.
After the round is over the next round begins. The round goes on when the dealer does not have pontoon. Every player must decide whether he hits another card or stands. A player can stand on every hand that has a value of at least 15, or on a five-card hand.
Splitting is only allowed for cards of the same rank. So if you have two tens, you can split it into two hands. When a player gets 21 points with a two-card hand later he split aces, it is considered to be a pontoon. Once all players made the decision to stand or if they went bust, the dealer shows his hand, and can hit or stand to try and defeat the other players. The dealer has to keep hitting cards until he either passes 17, has a five-card hand, or gets a soft 17, which is an ace and a six.
